Whole Foods presents the Salud Kitchen for the Northwest Chocolate Festival featuring Northwest Bakers and Chocolatiers in a great series of demonstrations in chocolate culinary arts.10:00 a.m. Mint Gananche Demonstration Workshop with chocolatiers Steve Popplewell and Crystal Merrifield of Theo Chocolate. Join professional chocolatiers for a demonstration of truly great gananche making. With tips on how to create great desserts at home and special tastes of this fabulous mint gananche. 11:00 a.m. Chocolate Nib Brittle Delight! Demonstration class with chocolatier Suzanne Vaughn of Theo Chocolate. Learn the secrets of making a great candy brittle with Cocoa Nibs for just the right crunch. Professional chocolatier Suzanne Vaughn will take us through the basics of how to create Nib Brittle from scratch at home. 12:00 p.m. Baking Chocolate Bread like a pro with our special guest Baker. 2:00 p.m. Tasting around the world. The chocolate lands. in the upstairs Salud Kitchen area. 2:00 p.m. Dipping in Chocolate 101 (a lesson in home enrobing methods) with Suzanne Vaughn of Theo Chocolate. Join professional chocolatier Suzanne Vaughn for a special demonstration on dipping with chocolate. Though it sounds simple, enrobbing, as the process is known in the kitchen, has several key steps and we will get a first hand look at tempering chocolate for the right taste. 3:00 p.m. Basil Gananche Demonstration Workshop with chocolatiers Steve Popplewell and Crystal Merrifield of Theo Chocolate. Join professional chocolatiers for a demonstration of truly great gananche making. With tips on how to create great chocolate desserts at home and special tastes of this fabulous mint gananche. 4:00 p.m. Ultimate Chocolate Drinks and Chocolate Infusions for the summer and fall! Let's learn how to make a fun cool chocolate drink for the heat of the summer, a sipping beverage for the porch in the late afternoon. Two special drinks will be created with chocolate gananche in this class and you will get to learn how to make them and taste them both! 5:00 p.m. Hot Chocolate Drinks for the winter and spring seasons. Yum! Of course the classic hot chocolate drink is what we all crave in the winter. Learn several variations on this beverage with our professional chocolatiers!
